For sugartwist's first-ever featured designer, we can't help but be proud to show off Katie and Chandiss and the sexy creations of i can.d... Both of these girls are not only outstandingly talented, but gorgeous to boot, meaning they're the perfect models to showcase their own work!

i can.d began as just a gleam in the eye of Katie Krause four years ago, when she began sewing her own costumes for her job as a go-go dancer. An immediate audience attraction developed for her designs, and she soon collaborated with fellow dancer Chandiss on a fashion show which was held at upscale Club Lotus in Denver... They got such great feedback from the show, they decided to officially launch their new line, featuring dance and club outfits, lingerie, and evening wear. Though Chandiss has since left i can.d to concentrate on solo pursuits, Katie continues to add new items to the line, and is busy taking i can.d to the next level.

In Katie's words, i can.d is a "fun and flirty clothing line dedicated to gals that love to have fun and be seen. Most items are very fitting, using soft stretchy fabrics, fun stripes, and bright bold colors." Rather than following after any particular fashion designers, Katie has stayed original by keeping her eyes open... taking plenty of inspiration from the club scene worldwide... "London, especially!" Her advice to aspiring fashion designers is "Just be original and creative... and be very motivated!"

There's a new web site in the works, icandfashion.com... which will be officially launched on May 24, 2005 at Club Vinyl in Denver.

Keep an eye out for both of these girls, they'll be back next month in solo shoots!

From this month's lineup of models, you might Belarus has a monopoly on beautiful genes... Olya (like her compatriot, sugartwist model Galina) is from this former Soviet republic, and over her almost ten-year career has lent her unique and cosmopolitan look to advertising for everything from clothes to cars... Recently she was hired for a photo shoot for European automaker Opel, and a campaign to promote tourism for the island of Cyprus.

In spite of all the lens time, like many models, she's found that the live performance vibe of strutting the runway for fashion shows is her favorite kind of modeling, and though she's not exceptionally tall (well, for a model, that is), her long and lean physique cuts a theatrically dramatic presence on the catwalk.

So... that's the kind of shoot we did! Posing in an old stairwell, in a tiger-striped bikini, she does look pretty dramatically theatrical... Olya's excited to be in sugartwist, and we're definitely excited to have her! Hair & makeup by Tina Medina.

Twyla first made her appearance in sugartwist last issue... and made quite an impact in that first shoot. This California beach girl is as at home in a bikini as she is in a photo studio... so, as incongruous as it otherwise might be, she makes this series work pretty well, weird lighting and all!

Ah, Sonja... as you'll see from this series, our girl Sonja is a unique one. A self-styled "military brat", she was born in Paris, raised in Germany and now calls the States home... With her worldly upbringing, you might be pleasantly surprised to find out how down-to-earth she is... then you'll be surprised again (pleasantly) when you find out this petite beauty is a firehouse with a samurai sword collection and a penchant for body-painting (hey, photo idea!).

Galina first made her appearance in sugartwist last issue, and we're happy to bring her back! As a model, she brings an extra bit of life to her posing through her extensive dance experience... so, as many photographers have found, it's tough to find outtakes in any shoot with Galina, as she moves effortlessly and seamlessly from pose to pose...
