Katie is a sweetheart with a wild side... smart, multi-talented, and motivated, she's both endearingly down-to-earth and impressively cosmopolitan. Though she was born in Hutchinson, Kansas, Katie spent much of her childhood in Texas. "I'm half from Kansas, half from Texas!" she says, with tiniest hint of drawl in her voice. She's been a dancer since 3 years old, and was in competitive gymnastics until she was 16, when a hairdresser suggested she go see a model agency in Wichita. Since then, Katie's graced the pages of several magazines, done many, many fashion shows, and until recently, was the fashion editor of 303 Magazine.

We spoke with her just after she returned from the Winter Music Conference in Miami, where she spent the week soaking up the sun and promoting her clothing line, i can.d, which was featured last issue. She just graduated with a degree in interior design from the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, and although it was a 3-year program, she says "I made it a good five years!" With all that she is doing, it's no wonder. Between her fashion design work, school, modeling, and dancing, her plate has been full. Katie intends to put all her design abilities to work by opening her own boutiques, crafting the entire i can.d brand from the interiors to graphic design, and of course everything on the racks.

As a model Katie's a chameleon, and you'll see it in these photos! Playful, seductive, engaging, every frame is different; her big blue eyes can be mesmerizing... and of course, her fit dancer's body moves like a dream. Naturally, the outfit she wears is her own creation, and is perfectly fitting attire for this rock-and-roll princess.

This is something special... yet another shoot with the wonderful Galina! She's been a mainstay in every issue of sugartwist since the beginning, and we think you'll agree that's a good thing.

There's nothing like her combination of spectacular form and physical grace to make a photo shoot smolder... not an outright fire, mind you, but an indefensible slow burn that takes you by surprise. There's always something mysterious & voyeuristic about Galina's pictures, and it's perhaps that she seems to be in her own complex world... you just have to wonder what she's thinking, and then when her gaze meets the lens, it's like a circuit closing with a quick, blue spark.

Meeting Chandiss is like finding a ruby in a bag of jellybeans... Caught unaware, you're suddenly punched in the eye, knocked out by her sparkle and color. Singer, model, dancer, fashion designer... every facet of this eclectic and creative gem throws off a different light. If you saw the pictures, you'll certainly remember her from last issue, where she posed with fellow fashion designer Katie from i can.d.

Only 20 now, Chandiss already has quite an impressive CV... her true passion is singing, which she started at a mere 4 years of age... Her first big gig was at 12, singing the National Anthem at a Lake Elsinore Storm baseball game, and she hasn't stopped there. One recent huge rush for her was a performance at world-famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre, where she sang freestyle over a DJ, before 7000 people. Her songwriting is deep (but not inaccessibly) and drenched with feeling, and every word is sung in a voice that soars from note to note, dipping down to a passionate whisper before rising again... "I want to be an inspiration for those who want to express themselves freely," Chandiss says. "My music is about the things that people go through, the shadow and the light." No musical slouch, she's already a keyboard player, and is busy learning the guitar. She's on her 3rd album now, and major-label negotiations are underway...

Fashion design is another pool she's dipped her foot into... until recently, she was member of the design team i can.d, and is now working on launching her own eponymous line. The metallic turquoise outfit she's wearing in these shots is of course her own work, and true to sugartwist form, is barely street-legal sexy...

This time you can see a short set of Megan (first seen in our Premiere Issue) looking dangerously cute in a freight elevator...

Lots of times a model will stop by the studio and we'll pop off a few frames to see how they do... and we don't mind showing them, so you can let us know what you think! So, there are some shots in here of Erin, Alyssian, and Olena, three girls who tested recently.

Born in the tiny Colorado mountain town of Leadville, Tina spent most of her life in the mountains.. until she decided that she needed something bigger, and moved to Denver. Bigger is what she got, and modeling has taken her to all the major fashion cities of the world... Paris, Milan, Miami, New York City.

Tina started modeling at the age of 10 by showing off ski gear and snow suits for a magazine in Beaver Creek, Colorado, and eventually parlayed all her accumulated experience into a position as a scout, which took her everywhere you can imagine, just to find beautiful women to place before the camera. Quite a far cry from her small-town beginnings.... "Travel is still the biggest part for me," she says, when asked what she loves about modeling. Until recently, Tina managed her own model agency, M3, and was instrumental in hooking us up with several of the models who've been in sugartwist so far (like Neda and Dorota from our first issue)... but she's now concentrating on managing her own career, so we're glad to put her in the spotlight this time... Born in Bloenfontein, South Africa, petite 18-year-old Kayleigh spent her formative years in Cape Town, moving to the United States just a couple years ago. She says she kick-started her modeling career "with a bad webcam photo... cute, but bad" just a year ago, and already has at last count almost 50 shoots under her belt. "Ever since I was in front of the camera, I loved modeling." The camera loves her, as well, as you'll see...

One of her favorite recent experiences was shooting for Lady Freedom vs. Priestess Medea, a photo comic book produced by Black Forest Studios that's slated for release towards the end of the year. "I play Trickstie the Clown, a villian... It was body paint, makeup, hair... I look like a nuthead! It was more like acting than modeling, I really enjoyed it, it was very different... something I've never done before." She really is up for anything, and cites an early-morning lingerie shoot as an example. "It was thirty-something degrees!" But with her in the picture, of course the results were great...

What's she up to when she's not modeling? "I'm a social butterfly," she says. "I used to surf, but that's not possible here. There are tons of nice beaches in South Africa, it's perfect, the waves are huge... I really miss it." So, modeling is her current passion, and it's definitely been keeping her busy! We've already got another shoot with her in the can, but you'll have to wait until next issue...
